Rich and intense Napa Cab from a terrific vintage!

SOLD OUT

I’ll be honest with you – I sold this wine 10 years ago when I was working with a wine distributor in Northern Virginia, and it wasn’t exactly exciting. In the past 7 years, the winery has received some much needed funds from investors and they’ve obviously put them to good use.

It’s amazing that this wine is still even available, as most of the 2007 Napa Cabs have been sold out for months. Wine Spectator described the vintage as being “a textbook growing year marked by a small crop and ideal ripening, with scores of amazing wines defined by enormous complexity and plush tannins.”

This is what I would call a classic California Cabernet, and it offers up loads of ripe black cherry, blackberry and blueberry with additional nuances of light spice, vanilla and dark chocolate. The tannins are round, the acidity low and the resulting wine would be great with a grilled steak, but it’s great all by itself as well.
