One of the most popular white wines we stock is the Zebedeo Blanco. There's a couple good reasons for that -- first and foremost, it's a delicious bottle of Spanish Albarino at an incredible price. Equally important, it's "put together" by an importer friend of mine who buys high-quality, organically-grown grapes from top growers and estates that he also imports.
By bottling the wine with his own label, without a vintage, and without a geographic designation, he is able to avoid regional rules and regulations, and this saves us all money. Stop by the shop, and we can explain further, or just trust us when we say that this delivers wonderful Albarino flavors at less than $12!
NV Zebedeo Blanco -- Why should you buy it?
- Albarino prices are rising, but not with this one. Nowadays, most Albarinos, many of which don't offer near the quality of this one, start at a minimum of $15, and go up from there.
- Alex's (the importer's) goal is the same as Table Wine's -- we want more people to enjoy Albarino. Why? Because it is one of Spain's most splendid indigenous whites, and it's a complete joy to drink this wine with seafood.
- Flowing with beautiful notes of nectarine, ripe citrus, lemon zest, and a kiss of sea breeze minerality, it's a ton of wine for the money.
- It tastes great! Of all of the $10-ish whites we stock, this is the one I drink the most of....for what that's worth : )
Like I said, this one loves seafood, but don't worry, it's also a superb aperitif. The only thing that would make it better is a screwcap!
