Zebedeo Blanco NV

Top Albarino Value in the World: Zebedeo Blanco

Zebedeo Blanco

This comes to us from the same importer as the Campo Hermoso Tinto, which is also a sensational value. Similar story -- the importer is buying organic grapes from top growers and producers, putting his own label on it, and bringing it to our shelves where we sell it for a great price.

Almost all Albarino from Rias Baixas, this is a wine I am proud to sell. Showing classic Albarino nuances of nectarine, ripe citrus, lemon zest, and salty mineral, it's incredibly satisfying for the price....just like the Campo Hermoso is.

NV Zebedeo Blanco -- Why should you buy it?

  • Albarino prices are rising, but not with this one. Nowadays, they start at $15 and go up from there, but my buddy Alex (the importer) chooses to not label this as Albarino.
  • His and our goal are mutual -- we want more Americans to enjoy Albarino. Why? Because it is one of Spain's most splendid indigenous whites, and it's a complete joy to drink this with seafood.
  • Even though it's 90-95% Albarino, it is bottled without a vintage and labeled simply "Blanco." This allows Alex to avoid appellation rules and regulations, and it saves all of us money.
  • It tastes great! Of all of the $10-ish whites we stock, this is the one I drink the most of....for what that's worth : )

Like I said, this one loves seafood, but don't worry, it's also a superb aperitif. The only thing that would make it better is a screwcap!
