Do you love liters of Grüner Veltliner? If you answered yes, you need to try this liter of organic Alsatian white. Don't overthink the name or the grapes. Trust me on this one...
Bott Freres' Edelzwicker is absolutely delicious and cut from the same cloth as a liter of Gruner. Dry, bright, refreshing, just 11.5% ABV, and wonderfully gulpable, it offers up lovely notes of citrus, fresh peach, green apple, and floral spice. Once the bottle is opened, it flows quite easily.
At $17.99 per bottle (over 20% off the regular price), this organic liter of 45% Pinot Blanc, 45% Sylvaner, and 10% Gewürztraminer is one of my favorite summer values.
Founded in 1835 in Ribeauvillé, Bott Frères is now run by seventh-generation brothers Laurent and Paul Bott. Their certified organic estate produces honest, expressive wines that consistently overdeliver for the price. Edelzwicker comes from the Alsatian dialect, with "edel" meaning noble and "zwicker" meaning blend, and Bott Frères' version is exactly what this category should be: fresh, pure, and just plain delicious.
Dry, crisp, low-alcohol, and incredibly versatile, this is just as good on the porch as it is with sushi, seafood appetizers, or spicy Asian dishes.
At $17.99 for a liter of organic deliciousness, this is tough to beat. We have just 60 bottles available at deal pricing through Saturday, June 13, and I don't expect them to last long.
