This is what Italian Pinot Grigio is supposed to taste like. Brand new to the US and to the shop, La Cappuccina's Pinot Grigio flows with gorgeous aromas, beautiful texture, and lasting flavors.
Even better, this comes from a certified organic, fourth generation, family-run estate. As we've said for 13 years, "drink small" because wines from small family estates just taste better. They don't have to cost more though, and that's certainly the case here.
This is the perfect Pinot Grigio you all, not the washed out, insipid "stuff" that you'll find in big box stores. Give it a try, I think you'll be more than pleased.

Pinot Grigio is one of Italy's most exported wines, and so many of them are made in huge facilities that look more like oil refineries than wineries. These lifeless, soulless wines give the grape a bad reputation and for good reason. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE :)
Brought to us by the fine folks at Piedmont Wine Imports (Jay Murrie), this is highly expressive Pinot Grigio. It's also a joy to drink on these hot summer days we're having. Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, this sees a brief maceration "on the skins," which adds a color, flavor intensity, body and texture to the wine.
The finished product smells of freshly cut honeydew melon, pear, Meyer lemon, citrus rind, and white flowers. Medium-bodied and fresh, this low octane white (12.5% ABV) is easy to drink and easy to love. It's also a stellar value!
I'm not suggesting that this behaves like Grand Cru White Burgundy or Alsatian Pinot Gris, but in the $15-$20 Pinot Grigio sweepstakes, this destroys the competition.
Give it a try with some prosciutto-wrapped melon, shrimp salad sandwiches, or grilled chicken and veggies. It also makes for a delightful aperitif to enjoy on the patio with friends after work.
