When we featured this last fall, you all went crazy for this wine, and we sold 336 bottles in less than 30 days! Good news, our distributor just got a new shipment in, and it's back on deal. It literally smells like a richer, fuller Sancerre "had a baby" with a Cru Chablis. With a broad and rich palate, lovely minerality, and plenty of cleansing acidity, this is going to please a lot of palates.
From one of the original producers of Saint-Bris, Herve Felix and his family run a small estate where they produce a range of artisan wines. Founded by Herve's ancestors in 1690, the estate has passed down from generation to generation for over 300 years. Let's just say they know a thing or two about the land, the grapes, and how to best express both in their wines.
Grown in the same limestone-rich soils as Chablis and Sancerre, this is a uniquely delicious take on this noble variety. Definitely on the richer side for a Sauvignon Blanc, there's still great energy and vibrancy here. Bursting with aromas and flavors of lemon curd, pear, gooseberry, lime zest, and chalky minerality, this is an incredibly satisfying experience.
Just a joy to drink, this is one of the best French Sauvignon Blanc deals I've offered up this year. I know we're headed into fall and cooler weather, but trust me, this is a substantial white and a perfect one to drink all year long. Enjoy with oysters, halibut, salmon, or crab cakes. You can also skip the food and enjoy this with just a light chill on it.
