Well, we finally did it. After nearly 30 years in this wonderful business and over 16 years of owning my own shop, I have my first private label. Meet the 2023 Cloudbank Cabernet Sauvignon. I have been dreaming about doing something like this for a long time, and I'm pretty damn excited about how it turned out.

The regular price is $59.99, but of course we're dealing on it -- by the bottle, it's just $49.99.
If you love it, and want to get a solid six-pack, we'll knock it down to $39.99/bottle, over 25% off the regular price!

Cloudbank Cab was made by Jamey Whetstone of Timeplace fame, the same Jamey who trained under Ehren Jordan at Turley. But this wasn't a case of me simply putting my name on somebody else's wine. I was involved from the beginning. Jamey sent me tank and barrel samples, we tasted through different lots and blends and kept working until we found just the right combination. I even picked the label. Every part of this wine was intentional, and it was made specifically for Table Wine.
The wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from three Northern Napa Valley vineyards, with anchor plots on Diamond Mountain and a very special site on Larkmead Lane in Calistoga. Fruit from these Northern Napa sites typically finds its way into wines selling for $100 or more. Jamey buys all of the fruit himself, signs NDAs with the growers, and made this wine exclusively for us. Just 56 cases were produced, so once it's gone, it's gone.
And man, Jamey got it right. This is full-bodied, rich, and decadent, with a huge nose of blackberry preserves, cassis, vanilla, and tobacco. As it opens up, more complex notes of dried cherry, mocha, and spice box emerge from the glass. As great as it smells, what I think many of you are going to love the most is the wine's velvety and fine-grained texture... that's fancy talk for SMOOTH AND SUPPLE.
It's a large and in-charge Cabernet that somehow remains graceful and easy to drink. We took a pretty big swing on this one, and I'm both pleased and proud with how it turned out.
I wanted to create something that I would be excited to drink and proud to sell. I think we nailed it. Now it's your turn to find out.
