The verdict is in, and I am not the only that loves the 2018 Eagle Glen Cabernet Sauvignon. My top Napa Cab customers love it too! One of my best, sub-$25 Napa Cab finds of all time, this is a wonderful, complete, and classy wine that easily competes with others that cost $40 to $50.
It not only comes from top sites in Oakville, Calistoga, and Saint Helena, it also comes from the wonderful 2018 vintage. Overall, Wine Spectator rated this vintage 99 points for Napa Cabs! More on that below, but at less than $25, I can't think of another Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that comes close to this one qualitatively.

Is this the best sub-$25 Napa Cab in the marketplace? I say yes, but you be the judge. This is a wine that just has so much to like. Cassis, blackberry, mocha, spice, and hint of leather inform the nose. This is followed by a smooth, decidedly New World palate of rich, full and forward flavors.
"A spectacular year, with wines that are rich and dark, but detailed, restrained in style and very terroir-driven." - Wine Spectator on the 2018 Napa Cab vintage.
Yep, this ain't Bordeaux folks. It's Napa, and that's what I like about it. It's "put together" by Ian Davies of Davies Family Selections, and this guy knows what he is doing. A longtime wine buyer and sommelier, Ian developed some great connections in his tenures at Capital Grille and Morton's and decided to make his own wines. Obviously, he has latched on to some wonderful sources, as evidenced by this wine.
Eagle Glen was one of Davies' first "creations," and it's still his top-selling wine. I understand why. There's just a lot of style and polish here, and that's not often found in Napa Cabs in this price range. I've been putting it in the hands of my high-end Napa Cab lovers, and they've all been coming back and buying more. So it goes, good wine sells itself.
Lynn and I had a bottle recently, and it flipped both of our lids. I immediately knew I wanted to feature this wine in the lead-up to Christmas. It would be great with standing rib roast or a tenderloin, but it's pretty darned easy to drink without food too. If you like $50-tasting Napa Cab at less than $25, stock up on this one. You won't regret it!
