Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc is more popular than ever, and one sniff and sip of this wine helps to explain that phenomenon. This is the "entry point wine" from fabulous Sancerre producer Gerard Fiou, and it is one of the top Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc values out there.
We also stock Fiou's Sancerre, and it's a wonderful wine, but the estate's Just Fiou Sauvignon Blanc offers incredible quality-to-price ratio. With classic Loire Valley personality, this is will make Sancerre lovers very happy.

Brought to us by North Carolina-based importer Thomas Meunier, this wins my award for the top Sauvignon Blanc deal of the year. The grapes that go into this wine come from Fiou's vineyards just a couple of miles outside of his vineyards in Sancerre. With nearly identical soils, climate, and conditions to those found in Sancerre, this is truly a lot of wine for the money.
That's why I like to call this one "Baby Sancerre" or "Sancerre Junior." It's got a lot of the same "stuff" you'd find in a Sancerre, but it comes to you at a much lower price. Fermented in stainless steel to preserve freshness and vitality, it is then aged for three months on its fine lees.
Beautifully aromatic and vivacious, this offers up tantalizing aromas and flavors of lemon zest, pink grapefruit, green apple, and honeysuckle. Brisk, taut, and zippy on the palate, the flavors linger for a good 30 seconds. At less than twenty bucks, you will struggle to find a better Loire Sauvignon Blanc value.
Stock up on this one for hot and sunny summer days, but don't forget to enjoy a bottle with a meal of fresh fish, seafood, veggies, and salads. Cheers to happy drinking and eating in the AVL!
