2022 Domaine La Bouscatiere Cotes du Rhone Blanc

Ripe and Decadent White: La Bouscatiere Cotes du Rhone Blanc

It might sound like a stretch when I say Bouscatiere's CDR Blanc reminds me of a Condrieu or a White Chateauneuf, but I'm comfortable with my "call." We had this one in stock last fall for about 30 minutes. Seriously, 10 cases sold out in all of 30 minutes!

It was the week before Thanksgiving, and this was a perfect "turkey wine," but good God, we left a lot of our folks wanting more of this one. Good news, it's back, it's the same vintage, and we're running the same deal on this sensational Southern Rhone White Blend.

Bouscatiere Cotes du Rhone Blanc

2022 Domaine La Bouscatiere Cotes du Rhone Blanc

Sensational Southern Rhone White Deal!

This is what I want White Cotes du Rhones to taste like. I honestly want every White Chateauneuf to taste at least like this, but that's often not the case. This is a Southern Rhone white in all of its glory -- rich, golden, ripe, textured.

Just so you know what we're talking about here, this isn't Sancerre or Chablis. As much as I love those 2 classic French whites, they are more mineral- and acid-driven wines. Bouscatiere's Cotes du Rhone Blanc is all about luscious and soft fruit supported by spice and floral nuances. It's certainly dry, but it's a more rounded and decadent style of white wine.

80% Viognier and 20% Roussane from vineyards in and around Gigondas, this  is hard not to like. Offering up full and overt aromas and flavors of honeyed peach, apricot, white flowers, and spice, I'd happily put this in a blind tasting against White Chateauneufs and/or Condrieus. I guarantee you it would finish in the Top 3.
