Who says you can't drink white wine when it's cold outside? Not I, and the 2020 Inama Soave is full and flavor-packet yet fresh and vivacious. It is this combination of richness and brightness that I specifically look for in the whites I offer up during the winter.
From one of the reference point estates for Soave, this is like the sixth vintage in a row this wine has garnered 90+ point scores. A gorgeous wine that makes for a great aperitif or a classic pairing for roast chicken or salmon, stock up on this one and save big.

Giuseppe Inama was one of the early, quality-minded producers of Soave. In the 1950's, long before Soave had established its reputation, he slowly began buying small plots of what he deemed to be sites with potential to produce world-class whites. Today, the estate remains family-run, and Giuseppe's early investment and instinct have paid off.
One of the keys to great Soave is the Garganega grape, and most top Soaves are composed entirely of this highly regarded and ancient variety. Growers appreciate the variety’s generous yields, and the loose-knit bunch structure, which increases ventilation and reduces the risk of fungal disease. Winemakers also appreciate the grape for its moderate acidity, elegant perfume, and high concentration of aroma compounds.
The 2020 Inama Soave Classico is fermented entirely in stainless steel to preserve freshness and aromatics, and James Suckling pretty much nailed it with his description. "A lavish bouquet of Provencal herbs greets your nose. It really is like walking around a street market in Nice. Other nuances are apple and mineral-based. Medium-to full-bodied with intense balance of perfumed, saline minerals and persistent fruit that gives a tasty finish. The interest never flags here. Drink now."
What a wine and what a terrific value. Enjoy this with everything from chicken and pork to salmon and scallops. It's quite versatile at the dinner table, but it's also quite enjoyable to drink without food too. Cheers and keep on drinking the good stuff!
