SOLD OUT! I’ve been looking for a good Pouilly Fuisse for months now. I didn’t find a good one. I found a great one! From one of the oldest estates in the region, Chateau Vitallis’s 2017 is about as good as it gets, and it won’t come close to breaking the bank.
From 35-40 year old vines, this definitely shows that old vine Chardonnay character. Nearly golden in color and boasting a terrific combination of richness, minerality, and freshness, it’s a world-class wine.

SOLD OUT
The Dutron family have farmed the vineyards of Pouilly Fuisse for nearly 200 years. Their knowledge of the the land, the grapes, and winemaking is second to none in the appellation. And their old vines are situated on south facing vineyards, capturing maximum sun exposure. It doesn’t hurt that Vintage 2017 was an excellent one in the region either!
Fermented low, slow, cool and naturally in a combination of stainless steel (70%) and French oak (30%) creates an elegant wine of great finesse. Bursting with notes of ripe apple, pear, citrus oils, spice, and mineral, this full-bodied, textured, and ripe Chardonnay remains perfectly balanced and harmonious. Drinking well now and a perfect pick for your Thanksgiving celebrations this year, I suspect this will get even better in the cellar. Drink now through 2025.
If you keep up with my email offers, you know that 10 cases can disappear rather quickly, like that Baby Brunello did last week. Jump on this one before it gets away, because I bought every bottle my distributor had, and there won’t be any more available until 2019! It will certainly make you very happy. Until we meet again, cheers to happy drinking and eating in the AVL!
