Let me start with the Wine Spectator review as it’s spot-on. “Bright and high-pitched, with star fruit, quinine and white peach flavors, laced with a flash of lime pith. Offers a bracing, lively finish. Vermentino and Chardonnay.” And their recommended retail price on this one is $15. I’d say it’s totally worth 15 bucks, but we can beat that!
And it’s not that this is just delicious, it’s also from a wonderful, family-run winery. And you know that’s what Table Wine is all about! Founded in 1966 by the Barcelo family, Domaine Vetriccie’s 120 hectares of vineyards are ideally situated between the sea and the mountains on the Costa Serena. Owner and winemaker Daniel Barcelo was born in Corsica but he to be a winemaker in the New World. And he’s doing a great job of bringing us the best of both Worlds!
His white is a tank fermented blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Vermentino, and this is a wine that just brims with freshness and vivaciousness. The Chardonnay brings the lemony citrus notes while the Vermentino contributes the more exotic tropical, white peach, and floral nuances. Completely dry but flowing with sunny fruit, this is a joy to drink all year long.
A serious people-pleaser, this is a white that will appeal to lots of different palates. Stock up for the long weekend and save big!
