SOLD OUT! I will be 100% honest. I was expecting little to nothing from this wine when my rep poured it for me last week. I'd never heard of the producer, and I rarely like "value priced" Oregon Pinots. I was terribly wrong.
The 2017 Kate Arnold Pinot Noir jumped out of the glass and grabbed me, shook me, and brought me to my senses. I was met with a Pinot that was unmistakably from Oregon, unmistakably delicious, and a candidate for the top Oregon Pinot Noir value of all time.
2017 Kate Arnold Pinot Noir Oregon
Outstanding Oregon Pinot Noir value!
SOLD OUT
I can't stress enough how great of a value this is. This blew me away with its ripe red fruits, its complex earthy/spicy notes, and its silky texture. Worth every bit of $25 to $30, this three county blend (Willamette, Umpqua, and Rogue Valleys) must be tasted to be believed.
Kate Arnold is a real person fyi, and she and her husband Jean buy grapes from top growers throughout Oregon. They are obviously well connected because what made it into this bottle is of a very high quality. I expected a one dimensional fruit bomb of a wine, but I was mistaken. This is very attractive and even somewhat complex Oregon Pinot Noir for less than $20 and as low as $14.99!
Fermented in stainless steel and aged in neutral French oak, this pure and delightful wine is 100% Pinot Noir....no filler grapes here. The aromas are of ripe red cherry, pomegranate, turmeric, cinnamon, and pepper, but the party doesn't stop there. The palate offers similar flavor to aromas, and the texture is lively yet integrated. Put simply, this is sophisticated Pinot Noir that is drinking like a dream.
Sorry folks, we bought every bottle our distributor had to offer, and we sold them all.
