From a wonderful family farm started in 1970, Scenic Valley Farms is still owned and operated by the Zielinski family. In addition to grapes, they grow pears, wheat, hazelnuts, hops, and grass seed. Talk about putting your land to good use, and their land certainly provided the foundation for a wonderful Pinot Noir.

Why should you buy it?
- Vintage 2023 was one that turned out very well! After an unpredictable and challenging '22 vintage, 2023 was a vigneron's dream year. A cool spring led into warm and dry summer, with very few "weather events."
- The resulting wines are very giving and precocious. Scenic Valley's Pinot Noir just explodes out of the glass with vibrancy, energy, and beauty, and complexity.
- There is no need to delay gratification here. This stuff is ripe and ready to be enjoyed.....like tonight! It will offer great drinking over the next 3 years.
- Scenic Valley Farms is about as sustainable as they come. In addition to their polycultural agriculture, they are also Live Certifed and Salmon Safe. As if that weren't enough, they raise bees, their barrels are crafted from fallen trees on their property, the winery is solar powered, and they employ a small crew year-round.
In my estimation, this is the way to run a farm in harmony with nature. I love that about Zielinski family, but that's not why I bought this wine. I bought it because it's delicious, and it's also a sensational value.
