I'm sure you've heard of Pecorino cheese, but have you ever heard of the Pecorino grape? Stay with me here, because the 2025 Tiberio Pecorino is one of the most exciting Italian white wines I've tasted this year.
I tried it last week with my sales rep Joseph, and what really caught my attention was the balance of richness, texture, and bright and racy acidity. It makes sense that the Tiberio family are regarded as masters of this sparsely planted variety, and if you love full yet zesty whites like Albarino, Chenin Blanc, and White Rhones, you're going to love this.
At just $29.99/bottle, we're offering this highly-rated white at one of the best prices in the country. Just 48 bottles available!

Pecorino nearly disappeared in the 1960s, when many growers replaced it with higher-yielding Trebbiano. Thankfully, a handful of passionate growers rediscovered forgotten vines in the 1980s and brought the variety back from the brink. Today, it remains relatively rare, but in the right hands, it produces one of Italy's most compelling white wines. Its name comes from pecora, the Italian word for sheep, as flocks grazing through central Italy were known to snack on the sweet grapes along their migratory routes.
Tiberio farms high-elevation vineyards in Abruzzo's Colline Pescaresi appellation, where cool mountain air and limestone-rich soils give the wines remarkable energy and minerality. One sip tells you exactly why so many people consider them the reference point for Pecorino. The 2025 delivers generous texture balanced by vibrant acidity, citrus and stone fruit flavors, and a salty, stony finish that keeps you coming back for another sip.
Vinous Media loved it to, awarding it 93 points: "The 2025 Pecorino Colline Pescaresi displays crushed wild flowers, lime zest, wet stones, sweet smoke and nectarines. A pleasant upfront sweetness is quickly offset by wild citrus and mineral tones. Candied lime resonates toward the close. This is wonderfully fresh and perfumed as a lemon pith concentration puckers the cheeks."
That's a bit deeper than my review, but I think it's spot on. Enjoy it with grilled shrimp, fresh fish, or linguine with clams, or simply pour yourself a glass, let it open up a bit, and you'll understand my excitement.
If you've never tried Pecorino before, there's no better place to start. Get some before all 48 bottles disappear!
