I tasted this one with Piedmont Wine Imports founder Jay Murrie a couple of weeks ago. While I'm usually pretty good at keeping my poker face on when tasting with my reps, I couldn't contain my excitement after one sniff and sip.
This is the ultimate Italian pleasure-bent red! It's packed with ripe wild berries, peppery spices, juicy acidity, and round, supple tannins. If I had to sum it up, I'd say it's Italy's answer to a top-notch Côtes-du-Rhône. The kind of red you want to pour a generous glass of and get straight to enjoying.

Here's the deal:
Just $15.99 by the bottle, 20% off the regular price of $19.99. No volume required.
Buy a solid six-pack and it comes down to $14.99/bottle, 25% off the regular price.
A blend of organic Nero di Troia, Montepulciano, and Bombino from old vines in Puglia, this is the kind of wine I built Table Wine upon. It's honest, it comes from a highly respected small family estate, and most importantly, it's totally delicious.
If you're not familiar with Nero di Troia, you're not alone. It's one of Puglia's most important native red grapes, though it doesn't get nearly the attention it deserves here in the States. It's the backbone of some of Northern Puglia's most distinctive reds, and in this blend, those old Nero di Troia vines bring a wonderful spicy, herbal, savory character to the wine.
Fermented entirely in tank, à la Côtes-du-Rhône, this is a wine that lets the fruit and the grapes speak for themselves, without the influence of oak. It's certified organic and bottled with minimal sulfur, and that's exactly what I love about wines like this: honest farming, minimal intervention in the cellar, and a seriously delicious bottle of wine that doesn't break the bank.
At less than $16, this is without a doubt one of the best values in the shop. If you've passed it over before, give it a shot this time. I think you'll like what you taste!
