Lagaria Chardonnay 2023

Incredible Italian Chardonnay Deal: 2023 Lagaria Chardonnay

Lagaria Chardonnay

I was quite frankly blown away when I tasted this extreme value Chardonnay with my friend and sales rep Richard McKinney last week. Richard had repeatedly told me how great Lagaria's Chard was for the price, and he was right. Offering up sophisticated style and pretty flavors at a ridiculously low price, you're gonna' love the way it drinks, but you're really gonna' love the price!

100% Chardonnay that sees a bit of oak aging, the finished wine tastes like one that you'd usually pay $15 to $20 for. It's certainly worthy of that price point, and many retailers have it priced there, but we're coming in way below that price.

2023 Lagaria Chardonnay -- Why should you buy it?

  • I'd personally rate the current release at a rock solid 89 points. Lagaria's 2023 Chard has yet to be rated by any of the major publications, but past vintages have consistently garnered 88-90 point scores.
  • Despite seeing 6 months of aging in older, neutral French barrels, I would never call this an "oaky Chardonnay." There's a delicate kiss of spice, but it marries well with the crisp and elegant fruit beautifully.
  • A nice nose of green apple, pear, lemon oil, spice, and floral nuances lead into a fresh and balanced palate that is nicely textured and layered. Medium-bodied, easy to drink, and even easier to like, I can't believe the price....
  • I know the label looks a bit silly, but I don't buy labels, I buy juice! Trust me, this is good juice with a great track record of success and favorable reviews.

A great alternative to a Macon-Villages, this brisk and fresh Chardonnay is easy to drink and easier to like.
