This is a wine that noted reviewer John Gilman (View From The Cellar) called both an "insanely good value" and "a flat out steal." After tasting this recently with my sales rep, I have to agree with Mr. Gilman. Simply put, this is one of the finest Cabernet values being produced in the United States.

California native Samantha Sheehan started making her own wines in 2009 under her Poe label. She was inspired by her travels through the classic wine zones of France, and her goal from day was to produce delicious, affordable, and vineyard specific wines with minimal intervention, judicious use of sulfites, and zero additives. With her Ultraviolet Cab, you over-deliver in a big way. 

The 2019 Ultraviolet Cabernet Sauvignon is actually a blend. 95% Cabernet Sauvignon from elevated sites in the Red Hills AVA and 5% Cabernet Franc from a vineyard in Coombsville, this is really easy to love. All of the vineyards Sam works with are farmed organically. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in a combination of old and new oak barrels for 10 months, the finished wine is hard to resist.

Deep in color and possessing a pure nose of blueberry compote, plum, currant, and violet, this a much more complex and complete than most under-$20 California Cabs. The palate is equally impressive with ripe tannin and round mouthfeel. Flavors of brambly blackberry, black pepper, spice, and subtle earthy nuances keep you coming back for sip after sip.
