The 2019 Fortune 1621 Cabernet Sauvignon is a classically-styled Napa Cab at a steal of a price. Made by Brian Mox, who previously made wines at Lewis and Etude, this offers up deep, dark, and hedonistic notes that will have you and your friends oohing and awing. I guarantee it!
I'm a sucker for a good Napa Cab and trust me, this stuff is fantastic. From the wonderful 2019 vintage and coming mainly from the Oak Knoll District, I'd happily put this up against a lot of Napa Cabs that cost 2 to 3 times the price.....and this would win :) I bought my distributor out of this one, so once it's gone, we won't see it again for awhile.

When I got word from my sales rep that they were down to the last bit of this stellar Napa Cabernet, I went all-in and bought them out. This is already a top-seller at the store, and I could certainly just let it slowly sell down, but that's not my style. When I buy big, I get into a "dealing mood," as we only have 1,500 square feet to work with at the shop. I might regret that down the road, but whatever, Table Wine is not a "bottle museum" :)
Fortune 1621 is the "second wine" from boutique, family owned and operated Darms Lane Winery. All of their Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards are in the Oak Knoll district, not far from the vineyards of Trefethen and Laird Family. As I said earlier, the winery hired the highly-talented Brian Mox to make their wines, and Mox is great at coaxing out deep, rich, and opulent flavors in the Cabs he makes.
That style is on full display here! A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 1% Cab Franc aged in French and American oak for 18 months, this is what Napa Cab is supposed to taste like. Full-bodied, opulent, and packed with pleasure, this offers up forward aromas and flavors of cassis, ripe dark cherry, blackberry, creamy chocolate, vanilla, and toasty oak. Round and supple on the palate, there's really no reason to delay gratification here.
A "grilled meat wine" all the way, the rounded and soft texture of this wine also makes it a great "cocktail Cab." That means it tastes good with or without food. Just 120 bottles up for grabs at deal pricing. You know what to do next.
