Et Cetera Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Duckhorn-Made Cab, Less than Fifteen Bucks

There's a new extreme California Cab value in the market, it's made by David Duckhorn, and it offers unparalleled value for the price. Being that David grew up in Napa in and around his family's winery, he's got a "connection or two," and his Et Cetera Cabernet Sauvignon is made with high-quality, purchased fruit from top estates and producers.

You are going to flip when you see the price of this tasty and crowd-pleasing Cab made to provide tremendous appeal and drinking pleasure at a great price. Fruit forward and supple, but not at all overripe or "globby," this is going to make a lot of folks happy. With cooler nights upon us in WNC, this is going to taste especially good.

A collaboration between cousins Ryan Weinert and David Duckhorn, we have been selling the heck out of this wine since adding it about a month ago. More importantly, we've had a lot of repeat buyers, and that situation inspired me to work out an even better deal on this already value-priced Cab. Mission accomplished!

This is a ton of wine at $14.99, but at $10.99/bottle on your solid case or $11.99/bottle on your solid sixer, it is one of the best domestic Cab deals I've ever offered. Offering up loads of blackberry, dark cherry, cassis, and toasty oak on the nose, this offers up a big, rich, and round palate with excellent French oak balance and soft tannins. More importantly, there is not even the slightest hint of smoke taint to be found.

Weinert and Duckhorn make this wine from the broader California appellation. This designation allows the most flexibility for consistency, quality, and pricing, and the duo are directly involved in the sourcing, blending, and making of the wine too. In 2020, due to smoke issues plaguing many parts of California, they sourced grapes from top growers in Napa and Sonoma, but they also bought grapes from growers and producers in Lodi, Santa Barbara, and Monterey. This combination of grapes led to a delicious, sumptuous, balanced, and smoke free Cab with style and panache typically reserved for much more expensive wines.

Who doesn't love a great value? I'm hearing crickets :) Trust me, this crushes any sub-$15 Cab available in big box stores. A perfect "Cocktail Cab," meaning no food is required, this would certainly taste great with a burger, a steak, or a nice spread of full-flavored cheeses. Don't miss out on this deal folks.
