La Cave du Prieure’s dazzling dry rosé is back, and this might be the best vintage yet. We tasted it last week with Chris from Rise Over Run, and all of us gave it two thumbs up!
100% Gamay from the slopes of Savoie in Eastern France, it is pure joy in a glass. Dry and crisp but packed with flavor, it smells and tastes of raspberry, fresh strawberry, mountain herbs, and rocky minerality. It has a personality all its own, and I love it. You will to!
The Barlet family have farmed the steep, chalky vineyards of Jongieux for 5 generations, and they’re the real deal. Today, brothers Pascal, Noel, and Julien are out there doing the work themselves, tending these rugged, south-facing vineyards by hand and without chemicals. It’s not easy work, but that kind of dedication shows up in the glass.
This is one of those wines that from first sniff to last sip, you know whoever made it cared. That's exactly the type of producer and wine we've built our reputation on. Bravo to local importer Rise Over Run for finding this diamond in the rough!
Chill this down, grab some sushi or spicy noodles from Thai Chili Bistro, and call it a night.
