The Durante Prosecco is as good as it gets for small grower/producer, certified organic, dry and delicious Prosecco. Seriously folks, stop overpaying for inferior Prosecco at big box stores, and try a wine made by a much smaller, family owned and operated winery. You'll thank me!
There are lots of options in the "Prosecco playing field" these days, but most come from large wine factories where quantity supersedes quality. This one comes from a tiny, family-run estate, and the attention that the Durante family apply to their vineyards can be tasted in the finished wine.

Do you want to experience Prosecco at its best, yet pay less than inferior versions sold at the grocery store? Do yourself a favor and stock up on Durante's wonderful and dry Prosecco. Father and son Ivano and Michele Durante are very hands-on in their 15 hectare vineyard in the foothills of the Dolomites. All of the work from bud break to harvest is done by hand, the estate is certified organic, and the finished wine is definitely a cut above many similarly-priced Proseccos that don't get nearly the TLC that this one does.
Located in the Treviso DOC, the Durante's vineyards are located near the Piave River. The cooling influence of the river provides the ideal ripening conditions for their 30+ year old Glera grapes. The wine is fermented using the Charmat method, whereby the secondary fermentation to create the bubbles occurs in pressurized stainless steel vats.
The finished wine is light, crisp, aromatic, and delightful. Bright notes of green apple, pear, tart tropical fruits, white flowers, and mineral abound in this easy-to-drink, dry sparkler. Even better, it's just 11% alcohol but still dry and full of flavor. Enjoy this charming bubbly with sushi, crab cakes, or some brie and baguette. It also makes for a perfect festive and celebratory bubbly.
We were able to snag 10 cases of this limited production wine, and based on the quality-to-price ratio, it won't be around for long. You know what to do next :)
