Clos Roussely Temps Danse Rose 2024

Delicate, Pretty, Exotic: Clos Roussely Temps Danse Rose

Clos Roussely Temps Danse Rose

Vincent Roussely is the 4th generation of his family to run Clos Roussely, a small, certified organic estate in the village of Angé sur Cher in the Loire Valley. I love all of his wines, but his Temps Danse rosé really tickles my fancy.

Composed almost entirely of Pineau d'Aunis, an ancient Loire Valley variety that nearly went extinct, the grape enjoys a long history in the region. While it makes lovely, light-bodied, and spicy reds, the grape is revered for dry rosé production, and this is both a great introduction to the grape's style, and it's also incredibly delicious.

2024 Clos Roussely 'Temps Danse' Rosé -- Why Should You Buy It?

  • For me, it was love at first sniff and sip! It smells of raspberry, strawberry, cherry, and earthy, peppery spice. Dry, dainty, and light in body, it displays delicious flavors that mimic the bouquet, and it really shows off Pineau d'Aunis' distinct character.
  • "Temps Danse" translates to "time to dance," and this captivating rose definitely stirs and inspires the senses. If you feel the need to cut a rug after a sip of this one, go for it!
  • Vincent makes his wines in a castle that his great-grandfather bought in 1917. The Loire is famous for its many beautiful castles, and Roussely continues to make his wines in the "family castle." Must be nice!
  • Grapes for Vincent's rosé come from his family's organic and biodynamic vines in the best areas of Touraine-Chenonceaux. It's a beautiful place that yields a very pretty wine.

We are constantly challenging you all to try new wines because that's what being a true wine lover is all about. Take a chance on this one folks, it's not at all weird, and it will pair perfectly with all sorts of lighter summer fare.
