We found your new spring and summer house white. The 2025 J. Mourat Blanc is thirst-quenching, interesting, delicious, and it comes in the cutest bottle. If you love Loire Valley whites, you need some of this in your fridge.

A blend of certified organic Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay fermented in stainless steel, this is wonderfully aromatic with notes of ripe pear, citrus zest, white flowers, wet stone, and fresh herbs. Crisp, vibrant, and moderately complex on the palate, it delivers a nice mix of citrus and orchard fruit backed by the saline minerality that is a trademark of the white wines from this part of the Loire Valley.
Just an hour south of Nantes lies Fiefs Vendeens, the westernmost wine region of the Loire Valley. The wines from here rarely make it to the United States, but they are beloved throughout France, where they’re happily consumed with oysters and all sorts of seafood along the country’s beautifully rugged Atlantic coast.
Vignobles Mourat is one of the benchmark estates of this tiny seaside appellation, and the region sits much closer to the Atlantic Ocean than the better-known parts of the Loire Valley. That coastal influence is fully present in this wine; I'm talking bright acidity, salty minerality, and freshness for days.
For fans of dry Vouvray and crisp Albarino, you need this in your glass tonight. Bright, salty, and incredibly refreshing, this is the sort of white that pairs beautifully with shrimp, mussels, oysters, or just about any creature of the sea.
Once you pull the cork, don’t expect the bottle to stick around very long.
