When talking about Italy's greatest native whites, Verdicchio is always mentioned as one of the best. Capable of producing textured and high-toned whites with serious character and the ability to age, it finds itself in great hands with the Sartarelli family.
For over 50 years, they've dedicated all of their efforts to this single grape that finds its peak expression in the rolling hills of Marche along Italy's Adriatic Coast. Vinous Media has repeatedly said the Sartarellis "remain one of the region's true shining stars," and I agree 100%.

You're probably guessing this is going to cost at least $20, right? I mean, we're talking about the best producer of one of the top makers of one of Italy's greatest native whites right? Nope...
The 2024 Sartarelli Verdicchio Classico is everything I love about this historic estate and this wonderful grape. Fresh, vibrant, and incredibly satisfying on the palate, it loves warm afternoons, big plates of shellfish, and just about any occasion that calls for a crisp, refreshing glass of wine. If you enjoy crisp whites like Sauvignon Blanc, Gruner Veltliner, or Pinot Grigio, you need to add this to your white wine mix.
Bright, mildly complex, and lifted on the nose, this smells of lime, green apple, almond, sea spray, and ginger. Just as attractive when it hits the palate, this is exactly what I look for in an Italian white. Crunchy and mouthwatering, it bounces around with notes of salted apple and citrus, finishing with a nice hit of savory herb.
Truly enjoyable and one of Italy's greatest white wine values, Sartarelli's Verdicchio will put a smile on your face whether you're enjoying it with a meal or while chilling at the pool or the beach.
