Champagne Laherte Freres Ultradition Brut

Champagne Laherte Freres Ultradition Brut

Aurélien Laherte makes highly-regarded, vibrant, and racy Champagnes, and his Ultradition Extra-Brut is a wonderful introduction to the Laherte Freres' house style.

I've been a longtime fan of all of the Laherte Freres Champagnes, but this is their top value. There's such a Champenois quality to this wine -- one sniff and sip lets you know it could not come from anywhere other than the Champagne region.

It's a wonderful value too -- just $54.99/bottle (no further discounts) through Christmas Eve 2025! No further discounts.

Aurelien Laherte of Laherte Freres Champagne

Since 1889, this famed grower has made highly-lauded Champagnes, but it was under Aurélien's watch that Laherte Freres earned a reputation as one of the most progressive and dynamic grower-producers in the region. He is a meticulous vinifier and a devoted practitioner of organic and biodynamic viticulture, and his modus operandi is to express the unique terroirs of the Champagne region through his wines.

He is doing just that, and one smell of Laherte Freres' Ultradition Extra-Brut, a blend of all 3 Champagne grapes (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier), and you know you've got the good stuff in your glass. Gorgeous and complex notes of crushed flowers, lemon, green apple, pear, orange zest, brioche, and chalky mineral show up in the bouquet and on the palate.

Medium-bodied and vibrant on the palate, it is intense, finessed, and persistent, with lively acidity and a long and resounding finish. Very, very fine Champagne, and I know that because we had a bottle on Thanksgiving, and everyone loved it!

$54.99/bottle is a great price for this, and we've got 60 bottles up for grabs at deal pricing. Get on it!
