2022 Jean-Paul Brun 'Le Ronsay' Beaujolais

Beautiful New Beaujolais from the Master: Jean-Paul Brun 'Le Ronsay' Beaujolais

On sale through 12/2/23 -- 14 cases available -- With no Beaujolais Nouveau headed our way due to delayed shipments, we had to pivot this year. The good news is that we found a fresh and fun Beaujolais from one of our favorite growers that "behaves" a lot like Nouveau!

Jean-Paul Brun quietly and masterfully makes some of my favorite Beaujolais', and his 'Le Ronsay' single vineyard bottling is brand new to the US. It's a brilliant, young Gamay-based red that offers vibrant and snappy notes of raspberry, wild strawberry, cherry, violet, and fall spice. I will be drinking a lot of this one through the holiday season!

If you love Beaujolais Nouveau, you will love this wine. It will easily fill that void, and in all honesty, it's a far more formidable wine. Not sure about this one? No problem, join us this Friday, November 17th for our Free Beaujolais Tasting. CLICK HERE for more details on that!

It would be out of character if I didn't feature a Beaujolais for Thanksgiving, and I found a great one! It comes from one of the true master vignerons of the region, and it came just in the nick of time. Jean-Paul Brun loves the land, the grapes, and the people of Beaujolais, and he humbly makes some of the most composed, graceful, and balanced wines in the AOC.

Brand new to the US and a wine that is going to delight palates, Brun's Le Ronsay Beaujolais is so pure, so delightful, and so easy to drink. From an organic patch of 20-25 year old Gamay in Brun's vineyards near Charnay, in the southern part of Beaujolais, it showcases Brun's signature silkiness along with a Burgundian balance rarely found at this price point.

If you know of a better estate-grown, organic, delicious Beaujolais in the marketplace for a better price, please do tell. This is best served with a slight chill and a big plate of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and cranberry sauce.
