Pinot Noir is a personal favorite of mine, but finding good ones for less than $15 is a true challenge. One of my favorite wine-buying tricks is to seek out the entry-level wines from top producers, and the 2024 Moulin de Gassac Pinot Noir is a perfect example.

Here's a wine that brims with classic Pinot Noir character. Bright red cherry, freshly picked strawberry, cranberry, and subtle spice inform the nose and palate of this silky, energetic, and beautifully balanced wine. It's also the sort of red that thrives in warmer weather, especially with a slight chill. The fruit takes center stage, but a nice whiff of forest floor adds complexity and intrigue.
At $12.99 per bottle and over 20% off the regular price, it's a stellar French Pinot Noir value to have on hand for all occasions.
Made by the Guibert family of Mas de Daumas Gassac fame, one of the reference point estates of the Languedoc, this wine proves they're just as talented at delivering incredible values as they are at making legendary wines. While Pinot Noir isn't the first grape most people associate with southern France, the Guiberts have a knack for finding vineyard sites that allow this finicky grape to shine.
And what a wine it is! I was shocked at how fresh and surprisingly serious this wine drank. It would be delicious alongside roast chicken, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, or just a good old burger.
No need to buy a six-pack to get the deal price, but I'd still recommend a solid sixer. This is the sort of wine you'll be glad to have more than one bottle of.
