Caprili's entry-level red is a screaming good deal in traditional Sangiovese, and I am loving the way the 2024 is drinking. Produced from 100% Sangiovese Grosso, the famed Brunello clone of Tuscany, this captures the essence of Montalcino without the Brunello price tag.

The quality-to-price ratio found in this wine should come as no surprise. Caprili was one of the original Brunello di Montalcino estates when the region earned DOC status in 1968, and they continue to make some of the area's most authentic wines.
Through July 25th, this is on deal for just $11.99/bottle, 20% off the regular price. Seriously folks, stock up on this extreme value!
In the glass, it delivers fresh, medium-bodied notes of dark cherry, plum, mint, violet, and earthy spice. While it doesn't possess the depth or structure of Caprili's Brunello, it shares the same aromatic profile and vibrant personality. Bright acidity, fine tannins, and perfectly ripened fruit make this ideal for drinking now...like tonight!
Caprili's Ilex is produced from the estate's younger vines, many of which will eventually contribute to future Brunello bottlings. Like all of Caprili's wines, it comes from certified organic vineyards and is fermented with native yeasts. The result is a pure, vibrant expression of Sangiovese from the grape's spiritual birthplace.
We just received 120 bottles, and the sale price applies by the bottle -- no six-pack required. That said, this is exactly the sort of wine I'd buy by the six-pack. It's perfect with pizza, pasta with red sauce, burgers, or anything coming off the grill.
