If you love Southern Rhone reds like Cotes du Rhone, you have to give the 2021 Morgan Cotes du Crows a try. This value-priced blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Tempranillo just snagged a 94-point rating from Wine Enthusiast.

Packed with aromas and flavors of warm cherry, ripe boysenberry, dried herbs, and peppery spice, it has soft and supple tannins, mellow acidity, and a Cotes du Rhone-meets-California style that I just love.
Even better, it's on deal for just $17.99/bottle. That's over 20% off the regular price of $22.99 and does not qualify for any further discounts.
I think you can make a strong argument that Daniel Morgan Lee and Donna George, owners and winemakers at Morgan Winery, are making some of the Central Coast's greatest values. Despite being pioneers of Monterey County and the Santa Lucia Highlands, and even though their wines regularly get big scores, their prices remain reasonable and fair.
Their Cotes du Crows is their best value red, and it comes from a variety of cool, slow-ripening vineyards throughout Monterey County. The deep, cold waters of Monterey Bay's submarine canyon create strong afternoon winds and evening fog, giving the vines plenty of sunshine while keeping the evenings cool. That long, slow growing season is a big part of what gives this wine its freshness.
Pair this with the same foods you'd enjoy with Cotes du Rhone. Grilled burgers, sausages, and lamb all come to mind, but this fine-grained red drinks just fine by itself.
We bought our distributor's last 60 bottles, and once those are gone, we'll be waiting for the next vintage to come in. This comes highly recommended from yours truly.
