So this past Sunday, I made the best Greek orzo salad with grilled shrimp ever. What to pair with this perfect spring and summer dish? Dry rosé came to mind, as did Santorini and Sancerre, but nope, I went with this. And I’m glad I did! Talk about a prime match for spring and summer flavors. It loves fresh stuff, like salads and grilled vegetables, but it’s equally comfortable with richer seafood and fish dishes. Think crab cakes, lobster, and salmon.
But don’t feel like you have to match my culinary feats to enjoy this one. It’s perfectly fine with nothing more than a glass, a friend, and a back porch or patio, pool, or beach. This is next-level Alabrino my friends, and it’s SUPER! More golden-colored and complex on the nose than most Albarinos, it offers up scents of pineapple, mango, peach, honeysuckle and citrus blossom. Once it hits the palate, though, ZING! There’s laser-focused acidity along with flavors of lime, passion fruit, white peach, flowers, and honey. I know that’s a lot of aromatic and flavor words to digest, but there’s just that much going on.
Whether you’re an Albarino veteran or just want to try something new, TRY THIS! The Xion Albarino is one of the best I’ve tried, and once others try it, it will disappear quickly.
