Bonhomme's Macon-Villages is always wonderful, but in the highly-rated 2023 White Burgundy vintage, it is astoundingly delicious.
Like all of Bonhomme's wines, there's a richness and ripeness of fruit balanced by zesty acids and marvelous minerality. We just got our annual allotment, I have tested it out, and I can say with full confidence there's nothing like it in the category. The pricing is more than fair too:
Buy a Solid Six-Pack: $25.99/bottle -- over 20% off the regular price
Anything Less: $28.99/bottle ($32.99 regular price)
I always take the maximum amount of this one allowed, but it's honestly never enough. This year, we were able to secure 14 cases (168 bottles) and I know that seems like a good bit of wine, but trust me, it will not last.

What's amazing about Bonhomme's Macon is the age of vines that go into it -- as you can see above, those thick, gnarly, 60-year-old vines are the key to this wine's success. As vines get older, yields go down, and aromas and flavors intensify, and that is exactly the case here.
Brought up entirely in stainless steel, this sees 6 months of aging on the lees, and it pours a gorgeous golden color and offers up scents of golden apple, caramelized peach, racy citrus, white flowers, and chalky mineral. On the palate, this is full and ample, yet zesty and vivacious, finishing long and spicy.
The quality of this wine should come as no surprise, as the Bonhomme family operate one of the top white wine estates in Southern Burgundy. They were and continue to be trailblazers -- they were one of the first producers in the region to convert to organics, and they were also one of the first to leave the local cooperative and estate-bottle their own wines.
Today, their wines are loved by many, and you'll see them on Michelin-starred wine lists throughout France and Western Europe. With demand high abroad, not much makes it to the US. I was an "early adopter" of their wines, and that is why I get my fair share.
As I said earlier, supply never meets demand, and this is one of the wines that our clients have a rabid appetite for : ) I would not wait too long to place your order.
