Bouchard Pere et Fils Beaune du Chateau Premier Cru 2022

2022 Bouchard Pere et Fils Beaune du Chateau Premier Cru

I looked hard for a Red Burgundy to feature this holiday season, and it was far from easy to find one, but I managed. I think you all are going to be very happy with what I found.

Bouchard's Beaune du Chateau Premier Cru is the essence of Pinot Noir grown in the Beaune region, and in the glorious 2022 vintage, this wine triumphed. "The great purity of the fruit aromas is allied with a seductive sweetness on the palate," said Britain's Decanter, who rated this Premier Cru at 93 points.

I agree with them, and I'm offering this incredible red at one of the best prices in the US. Through Christmas Eve, it's on deal at $52.99 per bottle (no further discounts), and I bought every bottle my distributor had.

Feel free to look it up online -- that's a really good price.....

Bouchard Pere et Fils Winery

When talking about the grand old estates of Burgundy, no conversation is complete without the mention of Bouchard Pere et Fils. Since 1731, this estate has been making some of Burgundy's most revered wines, and that tradition continues today. Currently, they own roughly 320 acres of vineyards, and the majority of those are Premiers and Grand Crus.

Bouchard Beaune du Chateau Premier Cru Rouge

Their 2022 Beaune du Chateau Premier Cru is comprised of grapes from 17 different Premier Cru vineyards in Beaune, and it is without question the greatest Premier Cru Red Burgundy value out there. I know this because I'm a bit of a Red Burg fanatic, and I can't think of another wine with this classification that sells for less than $75. It's good too, really good, and it garnered 93 points from Decanter and 92 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, who both loved the style of this wine.

You can see what they had to say below, but here are my own personal tasting notes. Deep ruby in color, the color is the first hint that you're getting into a special bottle of wine. The nose continues this trend -- spiced cherry and raspberry, violet, sandalwood, forest floor, exotic spices, and mineral will have your olfactory senses jumping with joy. Just as pleasing on the palate, this is medium to full bodied, supple, sensual, and silky, but there's an underlying power here that will allow this one to get better. Drink now through 2035.

It's really delicious right now, so do not feel like you have to cellar this one, but if you want to, go for it. It will gain a bit more silky complexity, but there's no need to delay gratification.

Decanter summed it up nicely: "The 2022 edition of Bouchard's Beaune du Château is deeply coloured and redolent of ripe blackberry and plum fruit with hints of earth, smoke, and spice."

The Wine Advocate also had great things to say: "Some of the best terroirs of Beaune are blended together to produce the 2022 Beaune 1er Cru du Château, a medium to full-bodied, supple and pure wine evocative of peonies, sweet spices and red berries. This suave, seamless bottling concludes with a saline finish."

Red Burgundy like this is incredibly versatile at the holiday dinner table -- from duck and turkey to beef and lamb, it will elevate your meal to great heights and will thrill the pickiest of palates.

$52.99/bottle is such a fair price for such a stately wine. We've got 84 bottles up for grabs! Get some before it's gone.
