2019 El Jefe Grande Tempranilla 1-Liter
Comes in a bigger 1-liter bottle! That’s an extra 2 glasses per bottle!!
SOLD OUT
Like past releases of the El Jefe Grande Tempranillo, this is certain to draw a lot of fans and sell out fast! I tasted the new vintage with my sales rep last week, and I can assure you if you’ve loved it in the past, you’ll love it again. This delivers pure, juicy, and silky flavors at a great price. And it comes in a liter-sized bottle — that’s an extra 2 glasses per bottle.
Did I mention that it was organic too? Yep, this one comes from a 3rd generation, family-owned estate just south of Toro and zero chemical sprays or fertilizers are used. Fermentation is done with native yeasts in “breathable cement” vats. This vessel allows bits of oxygen to interact with the wine during and after fermentation. The resulting wine is fresh, round, and palate pleasing.
And despite this one being pretty straightforward, it’s far from a simple wine. Plus, it’s so much better (and healthier) than what you can get at the grocery store in this price range. Loaded with notes of ripe cherry, plum, white pepper and dried herbs, this medium bodied, 12.5% alcohol red is one that’s gentle on the body and the checkbook.
Ideal as a house red, it also works wonderfully with all sorts of foods. Try it with a charcuterie board stocked with cured meats, cheeses, olives, and bread. Or pair it with a big burger with caramelized onions and blue cheese.
