2019 Domaine Montrose Rosé

2019 Domaine Montrose Rosé

SOLD OUT! The 2019 dry rosés have started landing, and the 2019 Domaine Montrose Rosé is stunning. Definitely dry, pale in color, and oh-so refreshing, this is guaranteed to be one of our top-selling pink wines of 2020.

This 11th generation, family-run estate is located in the Côtes de Thongue, in France’s sunny Languedoc region. With vineyards within close proximity to the Mediterranean, this rosé “behaves” a lot like one from Provence. And at less than $15 and summer coming a bit early this year, this one is going to fly.

SOLD OUT

I’m so glad the Domaine Montrose Rosé is back, and I’m sure many of you are too! We sold 28 cases of this one in record time back in June, and then our distributor was out. We just took shipment on 28 cases yesterday — it will sell out fast again. If you love classic, Provencal-styled rosés, you’re going to love this one.

It’s light in color and body, but it’s certainly not lacking in aroma and flavor. A blend of 65% Grenache, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Syrah grown in rocky soils, it offers up lovely notes of red berries, white peach, citrus, and fresh herb. Possessing a wonderful combination of roundness and freshness, it is elegant and delightful.

Like almost all of the wines we feature, this one comes from a wonderful, family owned and operated winery. For over 300 years, the Coste family have tended vines in Southern France. The family lives on the estate and they are committed to sustainability and biodiversity. In addition to being certified carbon neutral, they use a variety of “green and clean” practices, so as to pass the estate on to future generations. So there you go — a wonderful and cleanly made dry rosé to help you beat the heat. Enjoy this one on your porch or patio with a good friend or serve with lighter spring and summer fare. Think salads, green veggies, seafood and fish. The wine will elevate your food or your conversation!
