I tasted greatness last night.....
The greatness I tasted was a brilliant bottle of 2016 Brunello di Montalcino. In case you forgot, 2016 was one of the best Brunello vintages of the 21st century, and the fine folks at Casanuova delle Cerbaie produced a stellar wine.
Even better, my distributor actually has some! That's right, I'm offering you a brilliant, 94-95 point-rated, pre-aged Brunello at one of the best prices in the US. My pricing is beating the likes of the Wine Library, Zachy's, Wine.com, and a host of others....
I've got 84 bottles arriving this Thursday, and if you even halfway like Sangiovese, you're going to want to get in on this action! Reply to this email to reserve yours today!

For lovers of classic and traditionally-styled Brunello di Montalcino, Casanuove delle Cerbaie makes one of the finest values in the entire DOCG. With primely situated vineyards on the famed hill of Montosoli, some of the best terroir in Montalcino, Cerbaie really struck gold with their 2016 Brunello.
As I said earlier, Vintage 2016 was a phenomenal one -- Wine Spectator rated the vintage 99 points overall, saying it was a "textbook growing season" that "resulted in wines of finesse and elegance, balance and harmony." After having Cerbaie's 2016 last night, that all checks out for me.
This is the essence of Sangiovese Grosso, aka the Brunello clone of Sangiovese. My notes on this one are quite lengthy, so bear with me :) Upon pulling the cork, a heavenly aroma of mint-cherry-spice came drifting out of the bottle -- CLASSIC Brunello! Once I poured it, those notes expanded, but there were also gorgeous aromas of rose petal, chocolate-coated raspberries, sage, and violet.
As good as it smelled, it tasted even better. Rich and velvety with long and sustained flavors of ripe red berries, incense, dark chocolate, and flowers, it's one of the best wines this estate has ever produced. I was blown away by the generous and harmonious texture of the wine. There's some sneaky tannin that shows itself on the finish, but this stuff is drinking like a dream.
Will it age? YES, 100% YES!!! While I thoroughly enjoyed it last night with a Del Vecchio's pizza, this is one you can drink or age for at least another 10 years.
