Our first dry rose offer of 2024 is a lovely pink wine from Guerrieri Rizzardi, a family-owned estate that dates back to 1450. While most Italian dry roses are called rosatos, the pink wines made near Lake Garda are referred to as "chiarettos."
Elegant, gorgeously aromatic, and offering up nice mineral notes due to the morainic soils of the region, this combines zesty red fruits and citrus with wonderful minerality and spice. Great Britain's Decanter, basically their Wine Spectator, loved this one, saying the "50-year-old vines dig deep into the mineral soils, producing a citrussy, floral, and incisive wine with a long finish."
