As some businesses begin to reopen, we’ve been getting a lot of questions about when we will allow customers back in the store to shop. While we are still open for curbside pickup, I do not know when we will be able to open our retail floors for in-store shopping.
If you’ve visited Table Wine, you know the register is close to the entrance, making it unfeasible to comply with the six feet social distancing requirement. And our shopping aisles are narrow and tight, further making the six feet distancing next to impossible.
Then there’s the fact that our customers love to touch the bottles. I get it, that’s part of the joy of shopping at a high quality, independent wine merchant. It’s not unlike shopping at an indie book store or record store. But with so many bottles being handled by so many hands, it would be completely impossible for us to keep up with what has been touched and then clean the bottles.
We miss you all and we miss talking about wine with you all face to face. But in order for us to comply with the state and county’s current regulations, there’s just no way for us to be open with in-store shopping options. Our overriding goal is to ensure the well-being of our customers and staff.
So for the time being and until we can operate with no occupancy restrictions, we will only be open for curbside pickup — CLICK HERE for details and instructions. That means the door is locked and the only way to place orders is to use the contact form below or call us at 828.505.8588. All of us appreciate your patience and your patronage during these difficult times.
