The Wines

1. 2014 Poderi Parpinello Vermentino “Ala Blanca” (Sardinia, Italy) – This is a new arrival and a perfect match for grilled fish, shrimp or patio sipping. Vermentino is Sardinia’s white wine specialty and this is one of the best we’ve tried. The Parpinello family are veterans of the Sardinian wine trade and they have a tremendous reputation. Their Vermentino is fresh, juicy, dry and beautifully aromatic with a nice mix of orchard fruits, white flowers and a slight hint of almond on the finish.

2. 2015 Banshee Rose of Pinot Noir (Sonoma County, California) – The team at Banshee (including Josh’s fraternity brother Noah Dorrance) continue to knock it out of the park with all of their wines, and their dry rose is no exception. Completely dry, beautifully scented, crisp and invigorating, this stuff is hard to put down once you start sipping it. Perfect for spicy grilled shrimp, salmon, and veggies, you might want to buy 2 bottles — one to sip while you’re cooking out and one to enjoy with the meal.

3. NV Marietta Old Vine Lot #62 (Various Regions, California) – It’s our new Wine of the Weeks and this is your chance to try it! Pretty much every wine critic has called this one of the best domestic red wine values out there and we completely agree. Mainly Zinfandel with smaller portions of Carignane, Petite Sirah, Syrah and a few others, this is the quintessential red for barbecue and grilled meats. Rich, spicy, supple and delicious, you’re going to love this one.
