Golden State Classics - Free Wine Tasting

Stop by the store every Saturday any time between 2 and 5 p.m. for an education and free wine tasting. This Saturday, August 16th, Anne Kaufmann from The Country Vintner joins us to pour a terrific lineup of wines all hailing from sunny California. It’s worth noting that Anne will be pouring more wines than we usually do on Saturdays, so there are more chances to find a new favorite.

We’ll get you started with the 2012 Quivira Sauvignon Blanc from the Dry Creek Valley in the heart of Sonoma County. Bursting with juicy citrus, melon and fig notes, this is a great rendition of California Sauvignon Blanc. Next up, the 2013 Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Rosé of Pinot Noir is one of our Wines of the Week and also one of the best dry pink wines we’ve tasted this summer. For more info and tasting notes on this one, click here.

Moving into the reds, the 2012 Talbott “Kali Hart” Pinot Noir is made with fruit from the famed Sleepy Hollow Vineyard in Monterey. Medium bodied and silken in texture, this is just pure “Pinot Joy” bursting with red fruits, herbs, and subtle earth nuances. The 2011 Four Vines Old Vine Zinfandel “Truant” is made with grapes from various Zinfandel hot spots throughout the state. Forward, zesty, ripe and fun, it packs lots of juicy and spicy cherry, plum, and dark berry fruit. Fun and friendly, it makes a perfect partner for barbecued chicken or pork. We’ll finish things up with the 2011 Chappellet Cervantes Mountain Cuvée, a classic Napa Valley Meritage from one of the state’s most historic and trusted producers. A blend of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it is a classic Napa Valley red with plenty of body, flavor intensity and depth. The only thing left for you to do is stop by, taste, learn and save this and every Saturday at Table Wine.

Tasting wines are 10% off by the bottle, 15% off when you mix any six of them and 20% off if you mix twelve!
