I love buying wine. And thank goodness for that, as I’ve made a career out of it. What I can tell you is that it’s not as it seems. Table Wine opened nearly 8 years ago, and during that time period, we have gained many loyal and great customers. That’ s great right? Of course it is, but when you figure that no two palates are the same, my job can get challenging. I’m constantly having to balance inventory to meet the tastes of all of our peeps. And that can be stressful, but ultimately, it’s a lot of fun. So there you go — a little insight into the mind of a wine merchant. Stop by and I’ll tell you more.

1. 2016 Michel Gassier Cercius Blanc (Rhone Valley, France) – The new vintage of Michel Gassier’s Cercius Blanc is a blend of 70% Grenache Blanc and 30% Sauvignon Blanc, fermented entirely in concrete eggs. “The 2016 Cercius White is terrific, with hints of peach, citrus blossom, flowers, and Meyer lemon all emerging from the glass. Medium-bodied, fresh and lively, with both richness and freshness, it’s high class all the way and is more than worth its going rate.” – Jeb Dunnuck – 92 points

2. 2017 Reeve Rose of Pinot Noir (Mendocino County, California) – My fraternity brother and fellow Missourian Noah Dorrance and his wife Kelly make this one, and it’s sensational. Fermented completely dry, it shows a lot of complexity for a rose, with notes of cherry, strawberry, earth and mineral. Though just the second vintage of this wine, I’m already calling it one of the best domestic dry roses.

3. 2016 Le Macchiole Bolgheri Rosso (Sonoma County, California) – Cinzia Merli makes one of the top Super Tuscan values on the planet. A blend of Merlot, Cab and Syrah, the 2015 vintage of this one scored 95 points, putting it in the same class as Sassicai, Gaja, and Tua Rita, but this one costs a fraction of the price. We’re offering it up at one of the best prices in the country. Wait until you taste it!
