2022 Barbanera Nero di Troia -- Why Should You Buy It?
- Rated 97 points by Italian critic Luca Maroni, that might be a bit aggressive for my personal palate. I'd have it more in the 90-91 point zone, still very respectable marks for a wine that comes to you at less than $10!
- This stuff is downright hedonistic! Plush, smooth, and rich, it delivers aromas and flavors of ripe plum, warm blueberry, violet, and sweet spice.
- Nero di Troia is the grape, and it's one of the most important red varieties grown in Puglia, in the heel of Italy's boot. It tends to yield dark and full-flavored wines that can often be tannic, but the version from Barbanera is round and supple.
- Fermented in stainless steel to preserve freshness and purity, this voluptuous red works well with grilled meats, BBQ, and strongly flavored cheeses. It's also good with nothing more than a glass and a good friend!
Stock up on this palate-pleasing Italian red for all of your 4th of July festivities. When you serve this to your neighbors, they'll think you spent twice the price, we guarantee it!
