World Class California Pinot Noir Tasting - Saturday, June 2nd

Saturday, June 2nd from 2-5pm – Make your Saturday great with our World Class California Pinot Noir Tasting! We’re pouring some special Pinot Noirs, and all you have to do is stop by. We’ve got plenty of free parking.

I have a weakness for buying too much Pinot Noir. Ask my staff — they’ll back that statement up. I just can’t help it. Why? Because when it’s good, it’s one of the best red wines on the planet. Of course, when it’s bad, it’s one of the worst red wines on the planet. Don’t worry, we won’t be pouring any bad ones for this tasting. Far from it,weI’ll be digging deep for this one, pouring some Pinot that aren’t even on the shelf yet. And we’ll be offering these up at the best prices in the country. Trust me, you’ll want to stop by for this one. Taste, learn, save big every Saturday at Table Wine.

All of the featured tasting wines are 20% off by the bottle on tasting day only. Can’t make it by, but want to take advantage of the savings? Call us at 828.505.8588 and we can run your card over the phone.

1. 2015 Smith Story Pinot Noir “Helluva Vineyard” (Anderson Valley, California) – Husband and wife Alison Smith and Eric Story are crushing it! This 400 case production, single-vineyard Pinot Noir is pretty, refined, and elegant. Perfumed notes of pure cherry, strawberry, and cranberry meld with more complex notions of flowers and orange zest. The texture is impeccable and the purity is impressive.

2. 2013 Anthill Farms Pinot Noir “Peters Vineyard” (Sonoma Coast, California) – Anthill Farms was founded by three friends who cut their at Williams-Selyem. They obviously learned a thing or two, as their Pinot Noirs are highly sought after these days. Just over 200 cases of this one were made in the 2013 vintage — it’s a super special treat for sure. “Crushed flowers, mint, dried cherries and pine form an attractive tapestry of aromas, flavors and textures, especially through the mid-palate and finish, where the wine offers lovely density. All the elements fall into place effortlessly.” – Antonio Galloni – Vinous Media – 93 points

3. 2013 Capiaux Pinot Noir “Pisoni Vineyard” (Santa Lucia Highlands, California) – We end the tasting with an extra-special treat from Sean Capiaux. In addition to making the epic Cabernet Sauvignon’s for O’Shaughnessy, he makes serious Pinot Noirs under his own label. This one comes from the famed and prized Pisoni Vineyard, one of the state’s top sites for the grape. “This wine displays the classic and ethereal forest floor, blackcurrant and black cherry notes with some spring flowers thrown in for additional dimension. The wine is creamy, round, juicy, succulent, and medium to full-bodied.” – Robert Parker – Wine Advocate – 93 points
