A great time was had by all this past Thursday, as Table Wine was transformed into a restaurant serving great barbecue and incredible wines from small family producers. The food was plentiful, the wines were delicious, and we are all ready planning our next food and wine venture. I think many folks were surprised at how well the barbecue and fixins’ worked with the wines, but I knew this was a match made in Heaven.
12 Bones really knocked it out of the park this night. All of the meats had a rich, smoky flavor and the sauces added tangy, spicy peppery notes. Let’s see here – rich, smoky, spicy and peppery – that’s exactly how I typically describe a red wine from the Rhone Valley and everything really worked together nicely. I am always telling people that wine is just another food group, and in the best case scenario, the wine makes the food taste better and the food makes the wine taste better. I’ve included some pictures below just to remind you how much fun you had. For more shots taken by my good buddy Martin Pusser, go to Table Wine’s Facebook page to view. Click here to go to the link!
