This tasting is less about quantity and more about quality. Join us to taste why Napa Valley is one of the best spots in the world to grown and make Cabernet Sauvignon. From richer and more opulent, valley floor Cabs to the more structured and powerful mountain-grown versions, all bases will be covered. And with prices averaging $40+ per bottle, this is a great and inexpensive way to sample some very special wines. Taste, learn, and save every Saturday at Table Wine
All of the featured tasting wines are 20% off by the bottle on tasting day only.
1. 2015 Cornerstone Cabernet Sauvignon ‘Benchlands’ (Napa Valley, California) – I love the way the ’15 Napa Cabs are drinking right now. From the hottest year on record since 2003, they’re ripe, opulent, and generous wines that are hard not to like. This one comes from a tiny boutique producer and is composed of fruit from Oakville and Rutherford. Showcasing gorgeous notes of crème de cassis, currant, mocha and spice box, it’s full bodied, rich and generous.
2. 2016 Amizetta ‘Traditions’ (Napa Valley, California) – Like Caymus, but hate paying the price? If you answered yes, you’ll love this ‘phatty’ from vineyards scattered throughout the Napa Valley. A blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this one is beautifully polished with ripe and seamless tannin. Look for notes of blueberry cobbler, dark cherry, vanilla and sweet, spicy oak.
3. 2016 Vineyard 29 ‘Cru’ Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley, California) – Vineyard 29 is one of Napa’s hottest names in Napa Valley Cabernet. With vineyards located in Saint Helena and winemaking handled by Keith Emerson and consultant Philippe Melka, they put their pristine fruit to great use. Their ‘Cru’ Cab is a blend of multiple sites and it offers up terrific purity as well as tons of pleasure. Showcasing lovely black and blue fruits, along with notions of earth and tobacco, it’s a rock star Napa Cab.
4. Surprise Wine – It’s brand new to North Carolina and it’s one I’ve been patiently waiting for. Get ready to be amazed!
