New French Finds Wine Tasting

January 12 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free
Free wine tasting at Table Wine in Asheville, North Carolina.

It’s a new year, and I’ve been hard at work “hunting” for new wines. Join us this Saturday as we pour an all-star lineup of new French finds.

Go ahead, scroll down, and take a look at that lineup. Wow! With the new year upon us, I’ve decided to go big or go home for our Saturday tastings. And this is the official “launch” of that concept. Stop by to sample 5 tremendous, highly rated, small grower/producer wines from the famed terroirs of France. This Saturday’s tasting will certainly have a Southern French leaning, as the 2016’s have arrived, and it’s one of the top vintages of the 21st century. Stop by, taste, learn, AND SAVE BIG every Saturday at Table Wine.

Asheville’s Best Free Wine Tasting – Just stop by – we’ve got plenty of free parking!

Don’t forget, all the featured tasting wines are 20% off by the bottle on tasting day.

1. 2017 Guy Allion Sauvignon Blanc “Les Mazelles” (Touraine, France) – This small, 4th generation, family owned and operated estate is certified organic. Their Sauvignon Blanc is a textbook Loire Valley version with bright, snappy fruit, herbal nuances, and just a hint of mineral. Delicious!

2. 2016 Ferraton Cotes du Rhone Blanc “Samorens” (Rhone Valley, France) – Ferraton is crafting some of the Southern Rhones finest values, and their Cotes du Rhone Blanc is outstanding in this vintage. “Citrus blossom, brioche, crushed rocks and a touch of white grapefruit fruit emerge from this clean, crisp white.” – Jeb Dunnuck – 90 points

3. 2016 Ferraton Cotes du Rhone Rouge “Samorens” (Rhone Valley, France) – Like the white, this is an incredible value that competes with wines that cost 2x the price. “Rounded, sexy and even voluptuous, with terrific purity in its black raspberry, violet and incense aromatics, this medium to full-bodied beauty has no hard edges, silky tannin and a great finish.”  – Jeb Dunnuck – 92 points

4. 2016 Domaine Lafage Bastide Miraflors Vieilles Vignes (Roussillon, France) – Jean-Marc Lafage crafts some of the best values in the Languedoc/Roussillon, and this ranks as one of the top red wine values on the planet. “A blend of 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache, aged all in older barrels and concrete tanks, it boasts rockstar notes of ripe blackberry fruits, spice, dried garrigue, and hints of chocolate.” – Jeb Dunnuck – 94 points

5. Surprise Wine – Like surprises? Trust me, you’ll like this one!
