Free Wine Tasting – Spring Whites

March 2 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Best Free Wine Tasting Asheville, NC

Join us for a free wine tasting featuring some lovely spring whites this Friday!  We know we might be jumping the gun, but these warmer days have us thinking about warm and sunny spring days and white wines.

Regardless of the weather, I drink white wines all year long.  It’s not like I stop eating fish and seafood in the cooler months – why would I stop drinking white wines?  Stop by the store as we pour you a trio of diverse white wines to sip on whether it’s spring, winter, summer, or fall.  The high note of the tasting will certainly be the 2015 Thevenet St. Veran – it’s our Wine of the Week, and it’s a super-value in high quality White Burgundy.  Trust me, tasting that one is worth the price of entry!  Oh yeah, the tasting is free.  Stop by, taste, learn, and save big on all the featured tasting wines.  And stop back by tomorrow to sample a trio of wonderful French wines from the Louis/Dressner portfolio.

All of the featured tasting wines are being offered at 20% off by the bottle on tasting day!  To take advantage of the savings, all sales must be tendered by the end of business on Friday, March 2nd.

Can’t make it, but want to take advantage of the savings?  Just call us at 828.505.8588 to place your order, and we can run your credit card over the phone.

1. 2016 Hugues de Beaulieu Picpoul de Pinet (Languedoc, France) – Often referred to as the “Muscadet of Southern France,” the Picpoul grape produces a light, dry,and zesty white wine marked by lime, green apple, herb and mineral.  It is a super refreshing white to consume poolside on warm summer days…..and those are right around the corner.
Special Tasting Price: $9.59/bottle

2. 2014 Vallevo Pecorino (Abruzzo, Italy) – No it’s not made with cheese, but the sheep and sheep herders of the region love to eat these grapes right off of the vine.  It’s Pecorino, a grape that almost went extinct, but made a huge comeback in the 1990’s.  From the highly acclaimed Cantina Frentana cooperative and made with certified organic grapes, this is medium bodied, fresh, zesty and herbaceous.
Special Tasting Price: $9.59/bottle

3. 2012 Domaine Jean-Claude Thevenet et Fils St. Veran “Clos de L’Ermitage Saint Claude” Vieilles Vignes (Burgundy, France): Ok, that might win the award for the longest named wine!  Really, it’s not that complicated at all though.  The Thevenet family own the vineyard that goes by the name “Clos de L’Ermitage Saint Claude,” and this wine is produced with their oldest Chardonnay vines (70 years old to be exact).  From the hot and dry 2015 vintage, this is highly concentrated, powerful White Burgundy.  Laced with notes of ripe apple, pineapple, pear, flowers, and subtle mineral notions, it is a ton of wine for the money.
Special Tasting Price: $19.99/bottle
Special Wine of the Weeks Price: $18.99/bottle when you buy a solid 6-pack!
