Italian Wine Tasting in Asheville, NC.

Try Three For Free Wine Tasting on Saturday, August 20th from 2-5 p.m. featuring some new and exciting Italian wines!  We’ve been a hot streak with Italian wines as of late, and we’re expecting that trend to continue after you taste this incredible lineup of wines.  Daniel Lukin-Beck of Asheville’s own Sour Grapes Distributing joins us to pour a trio of truly incredible Italian wines.  A rich and textured Pinot Grigio, a fresh and juicy Tuscan blend based on Rhone varietals, and and a rich and powerful, 92 point rated Super Tuscan for less than $20 will wow your palate and transport you to Italy.  Stop by, taste, learn and save every Saturday at Table Wine!

The Wines
Save big on all of the tasting wines!  Mix any 3 of them and save 10%, mix any 6 and save 15%, and mix any 12 and save 20%!

1. 2015 Ptujska Klet Pullus Pinot Grigio (Podravje, Slovenia) – If you are tired of drinking thin, washed out, boring Pinot Grigios, you’ll love this version from Slovenia’s oldest winery (started in 1239!).  Pinot Grigio grapes are pinkish in color, and this winery allows the juice and the skins to “steep” together for about 3 days.  The resulting wine is a Pinot Grigio rose — light salmon/orange in color, it offers up richer and creamier notes of ripe melon and pear, with complex spice and mineral notes.
Tasting Price: $15.29 in mixed 3-packs | $14.44 in mixed six packs | $13.59 in mixed cases

2. 2014 Ampeleia Unlitro (Tuscany, Italy) – This biodynamic/organic red wine from Tuscany is made by the super talented Elisabetta Foradori.  The blend is Grenache and Mourvedre which thrive in the warm and sunny condtions of Tuscany.  Fresh, juicy, charming and joyful to drink, this is a great one for fans of Beaujolais and Pinot Noir.  Even better, it comes in a liter bottle giving you an extra 1/3 of a bottle!
Tasting Price: $17.99 on mixed 3-packs | $16.99 on mixed 6-packs | $15.99 on mixed cases

3. 2011 Tenuta Monteti Caburnio (Tuscnay, Italy) – Famed wine writer sums it up pretty nicely – “Tenuta Monteti remains arguably the single finest source for reasonably priced wines in Maremma.”  Produced from organically cultivated grapes from the warm and sunny coast of Tuscany, this offers up big, bold Super Tuscan flavors at a ridiculously good price.  A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Alicante-Bouschet, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, this dazzles with intense notes of dark cherry, blackberry, mint, herb and spice notes.  Drink now – 2022.  92 points Wine Enthusiast
Tasting Price: $17.99 on mixed 3-packs | $16.99 on mixed 6-packs | $15.99 on mixed cases
