Free Wine Tasting – Going Down South

December 1 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free
Free wine tasting at Table Wine in South Asheville, North Carolina.

We’ll be going down south for this Saturday’s free wine tasting, down to the Southern Hemisphere that is. Join us to try some top-notch wines from South Africa and Australia.

Asheville’s Best Free Wine Tasting – Just stop by – we’ve got plenty of free parking!

I’ll be honest with you — historically, I’ve not been a huge fan of South African and Australian wines. But that has changed recently. The wines are better and more balanced than ever, as producers from both countries have improved their methods both in the vineyards and in the cellars. Stop by this Saturday to taste what I’m talking about. All three of these wines are new to the store, and I predict you’re going to like them. Taste, learn, save every Saturday at Table Wine.

All of the featured tasting wines are 20% off by the bottle on tasting day only.

1. 2017 De Wetshof Chardonnay “Limestone Hill” (Robertson, South Africa) – Danie de Wet and his family, simply put, make some of South Africa’s top Chardonnays, and this is a brilliant effort.  “Plump and enticing, with a mix of star fruit, pear, and green and yellow apple fruit flavors caressed by a light shortbread hint on the rounded finish.” – Wine Spectator – 88 points

2. 2014 Elderton Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon “E Series” (Barossa Valley, Australia): Elderton is one of the grand old estates of the Barossa Valley, and they’re going just as strong today as they were in 1916, when the estate was established. Their red blend is composed of 90% Shiraz and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 10 months in older American and French oak barrels. Super spicy and rich, but nicely balanced, this bold, but easy-drinking red is an Australian classic.

3. 2015 Elderton Shiraz “Estate” (Barossa Valley, Australia) – From three separate vineyards, ranging in aged from 22 to 123 years old, famed Australian wine writer James Halliday calls this “one of those can’t go wrong wines.” He’s 100% right on that! Rich, full bodied, hearty and flowing with ripe notes of blue and purple fruits, chocolate and vanilla notes, this is Barossa bottled.
