Best Free Wine Tasting - Asheville, NC - Table Wine

It’s Asheville’s best free wine tasting, and you’re invited! Stop by the store to sample some delightful fall reds perfect for cool and crisp nights and heartier fare.

Asheville’s Best Free Wine Tasting – Just stop by – we’ve got plenty of free parking!

Autumn has finally settled into the mountains, and I know you’re thirsting for some great reds. And whether you’re looking for a daily drinker or a wine to pair with your favorite fall stew or roast, we’ve got you covered. Join us as we open some classic fall reds, including a new Roussillon that will make you forget about the Lafage wines. Add to that a new Rhone from legendary Chateauneuf producer Pegau and a crushable Cab from the Languedoc, and you have the makings of a great tasting. Stop by, taste, learn, and save every Friday at Table Wine.

All of the featured tasting wines are 20% off by the bottle on tasting day only.

1. 2017 Villa des Anges Cabernet Sauvignon (Languedoc, France) – Cab doesn’t always have to be big and brawny. In fact, many of the Cabernet Sauvignons produced in the Languedoc are fresher, lighter, and more Cab Franc-like in style. This is one of those! Beautifully fresh, spicy/peppery, and easy-drinking, this is your perfect house wine.

2. 2016 Domaine Cabirau Maury Sec “Serge & Nicolas” (Roussillon, France) – Founded by importer Dan Kravitz (Hand Picked Selections) in 2007, Domaine Cabirau has quickly established itself as one of the top producers in the Roussillon. And the Cabirau Maury Sec “Serge & Nicolas” is 100% rock-star juice composed of Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan from old vines. “Notes of strawberries, spice-box, licorice, violets and dried herbs all emerge from this beauty, and it’s medium-bodied, silky and polished, with beautiful purity, solid mid-palate density and building depth and length.” – Jeb Dunnuck – 93 points

3. 2015 Chateau Pegau Cotes du Rhone “Cuvee Maclura” (Rhone Valley, France) – Many consider Pegau to be one of the best in the Southern Rhone, and with good reason. Taste this wine, and I think you’ll understand. From vineyards less than 4 miles from Chateauneuf du Pape, this Cotes du Rhone is a classic blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. Ripe, complex, earthy and spicy, this full-bodied, structured red is a ton of wine for the money.
